I only have 4 scarlet millipedes and wasn't sure on the sexes. I have had them since August and have never noticed much out of them. In fact, they are on the boring side. Not much activity, no particular food preference. But today when I lifted a piece of molded fruit, I found lots of babies underneath. Most went underground before I grabbed my camera. These are pretty good sized. Any one else breed scarlets? Are the babies big in comparison to adults or have I just been missing babies for several months? I put an adult beside them for comparison. The color in this photo is washed out. Their best attribute, IMO is the color - peachy red to rusty red. Scarlett babies.JPG

In my experience the babies are about the size of bumblebee millipedes.
You've probably missed them for a while!

That's awesome you got lots of babies though!
I have a couple of adult scarlet's and am hoping they pop out some babies soon.
I need to try and find more.
The area where I've found evidence of lots of them, I've only managed to find one so far.
