I got this Stromatopelma calceatum in wild caught missing 3 legs and both pedipalps now she is molting to my surprise didn't think she would live let alone molt now she stuck having a bad molt. Never had such a cripple before don't know what to do to help her
The odds are real bad.
You could attempt to help with a moistened q-tip or something but this will likely result in more harm than good. I'm sorry to hear your spider is having such a rough time. Best of luck.
How long has it been molting for? I’m inclined to say to leave it alone but if you decide to intervene you do wanna do it before the exuvia hardens. Best of luck but agreed it doesn’t look good
I just managed to work it off, don't look good but she still soft so just have to wait and see. I Have had to baby this one since I got it. Wasn't cared for right and missing so many appendages but it's just up to her now. I'll check back on her tomorrow. Thanks. The last pic is of her molt i had to pull off her
Dang man. The pedipalps missing is bad. Eating is going to be difficult. Poor baby. I feel for you I seriously do. You have top of the heaps bad situation.
Got my fingers crossed for you wish I could do something more. I know the suck this is bringing.
Shes got all her legs and palps back after the shed so hopefully she will make it. Will know more the next few days. It's been hard to keep her going they way she was. Its time for her to get a break
So here we go. to all that watched or commented she is moving around Has all body parts back but a small deformed abdomen with old molt stuck to her. I'll do more later with that if i can. I want to try to fatten her up. She wasn't a good eater anyway missing those pedipalps. So time to get her back to size. Pics are of her molt before and her after.
