S.mesaensis take down

Got an unexpected half day free from work today so what better to do than have a complete feeding round in the arachnoroom..

I've been trying to get a good shot of a scorpion tagging it's prey for a while now but my digital camera has got a bit of lag time from focusing to taking the shot which makes it very difficult to time the shot accuratly.

Anyway today i succeeded with a L5 S.mesaensis. Check it out....a perfect neck tag.

A good sized prey item too considering the scorp is allready fairly plump

It was quick enough so that i didn't actually see it. I was looking at the display on the back of the camera and by the time i looked at the scorp the event had passed.
