here is a pic of one i had that i sold to someone on here
dear crashergs,
how beautiful it is! thanks a lot. did you sell this nice one to somebody? why? if i were you, i would never do like that. anyway, how big is this? male or female? i heard that it's too rare to get anywhere these days. i want to see other pictures if possible. especially pedelings or babies of S. gigantea. i've never seen such little creatures. you are the first one who replied on my thread. maybe S. gigantea keepers are few. thank you very much!

Hello,

nice one but in my opinion it is a Sc. spec. gigantea robusta.
A Sc.gigantea looks like this one

Here one more Sc. spec. gigantea robusta

dear crashergs and Sportfreund...

thanks for the nice pictures! nice quality!!!
thanks, Sportfreund, you attached two pictures.
ok.. let me see...

Sportfreund, i can see your two pedes are little different.
your second one is the same as crashergs's pede.
i can recognize them in color patterns of terminal legs.
maybe both of you would agree with me.
but as far as i know, gigantea robusta has red coloration which is little lighter or paler(=i'm not sure if 'paler' is right expression in this case) than S. gigantea. isn't it?
anyway thanks..

i will watch opinions from the others. thanks, guys!

Wow, really impressive!

Do you still keep them? When did you breed them?
Have to admit they look really cute as pedelings... :)

And Locke, don't worry, you'll get your gigantea someday ;)

@ TheNatural,
could you post pictures of the mother of those baby scolopendrids ?
I'm having doubts these are Sc.gigantea, cause the plings on your pictures only have 4 smooth basil antennae segments,... while publications on gigantea tell us gigantea usually has more then 7 (range between 7 and 10)

But,.. very cute plings nevertheless !!!! :worship:

the smooth antennae segments start at the headplate,... as you can see at this picture,.. this specimen has 7-8.
