So I really wanted an S. calceatum since I discovered the species accidentally on the internet about a month and a half ago I found someone to buy from. Initially it was supposed to arrive in 2 weeks, but time passed and just got it a few days ago. Aside from that it was supposed to be much larger, but what I ended up with was a sling less than 1 cm legspan.
Anyway, during this period of course I kept reading the internet for different articles, posts, looking at pictures like crazy and all that stuff. The forum here was most helpful as I found a lot of info, care tips, bite reports and pictures and, of course, the unmistakeable threads of the nature boy. I think I learned a lot about this species from his personal experince, although, sometimes, painful for him. I want to thank him for the threads and posts as I have brought him up.
Back to the story. Last night I decided to feed the little critter as I had been waiting for that moment so I decided to put in a pin-sized cricket which it can tackle. Of course the little bastard was going any other direction except that in which the tarantula was so I am manouvering him twards the sling. At this time I am very focused on the cricket. All of a sudden it decides to jump... I am looking to see where it landed so that I can continue driving it... But I realise I don't see the cricket anymore... Nowhere in the container! I am guessing it must have jumped out.
That is the moment I take a glimpse at where the sling was... IT WAS EATING THE CRICKET!!! I mean... no noise, no agitation, not even a glimpse of the sling attacking  . And it is ONLY L1!!! It is going to be sooo much fun with it when it grows {D . Have to buy a few more of these, I really love them!
