Running out of crickets?

So, I needed someone to watch my emperor scorpion for about a month while I am in the process of moving. My girlfriend's brother decided to do the job. I told him that if he absolutely could not get crickets he could feed the scorpion raw meat.
I called him today checking in on things when he told me that he fed it BOLOGNA

Seriously?

What shocked me even more is that apparently the scorpion ate the entire huge piece,

And what shocked me even more is that it is still alive after a week!!

And even MORE, he truly did not understand why I was beyond shocked that he actually fed my scorpion BOLOGNA!!!!!!!!!:barf:

I knew someone who was in Namibia on a field project and found a solpugid. They kept it as a camp mascot for a while and offered it a wild range of foods looking for something it would not eat. Bologna sandwich was one of the offerings - and it was accepted.

If he ate it he ate it...so what?!...he must of enjoyed it....and its still alive....At least we have learned something here..Next time i run out of crickets im feeding my desert hairy a chicken nugget.
