hi
i got this guy sold to me as a rose tarantula
when i first got it, it did look like a rosea but then a few weeks ago it molted
and now looks like this
the carapace is a very shiny copper color and the red hairs on the butt threw me off
i have never had a rosea molt with me before, is this what they look like or is a different T?
also when it molted it built a hammock like web in the upper corner of the cage, and thats where it molted, right above it's hide i thought that was kinda odd
i was browsing thru some pictures and could not find anything that looked the same
any info would really help
thanks
chris

IT is most definately Paraphysa scrofa! Congrats. Its a dwarf species.

I can take pics of mine if you'd like me to, to compare it, but I am 100% sure that is what I said it was.

Keep it just like a rose hair and you will be fine. I'm pretty sure they dont exceed 4". Mine is around 3".

$18.99 sounds pretty good especially if it turns out female. I bought a female for $10 from another member on this board, I got very lucky:D . I usually see them being offered around $30-$40.

If yours turns out male(which it probably isn't), we should do a 50/50.
