How did you get so close? Was it just too distracted eating to notice or did you use zoom?

Oh, I was using both a 100mm macro lens, and shooting through the plastic on the side of the terrarium, It was pretty distracted though, it actually originally grabbed that roach by the back of the adbdomen, and had to do a few release and grabs with the chelicera to work it's way up to the head, I would have videoed it if I could have.
