Sorry for starting another thread. Anyone know a good reliable dealer of retics in USA?

Thanks,
Paul

You could also try Brian Sharp in VA. I love retics but the size and strentgh scares me lol. My favorite is the tiger morph.

I've always got great stock from Jud McClanahan, pretty sure he has a site just search the name. Last few years hes had supers bred by parents fathered by the original tiger male.

Try the "Pythons" section of the classifieds at http://www.kingsnake.com .
There are almost always well-known people selling(in the herp hobby/business)selling Super-Dwarf Retics there. You can also check out the classifieds at http://www.faunaclassifieds.com , but you will to sign up(it's free) to see photos of animals for sale. They also have a "Board of Inquiry" in which people can check out the reputations of people selling animals, and make reports of bad or good experiences

A dwarf burm usually has a bit more tude then a normal burm. Does any one know if the same is true with retic dwarfs :?

No, the Dwarf and Super-Dwarf Retics are usually very sweet snakes. When the Jampeas and Kayuadis were first imported, even the freshly wild-caught adult snakes weren't bitey, just a bit skittish. That might have come about because there were no humans or large predatory mammals on those islands who killed the pythons, so the snakes had not evolved the typical mainland Retic 'tude, which is probably a survival mechanism. Those large mainland snakes not only have to cope with humans who want to kill them, but other predators like tigers, leopards, and large Varanid lizards, while the island subspecies have pretty much been left alone. My male will sometimes lash out at a snake bag; he really doesn't like one for some reason. I don't know, maybe he associates it with something bad. For a snake, Retics are intelligent, and they DO learn and remember things, and they're very much aware of everything that's going on around them. I used to keep mine on a chest of drawers next to my closet door, and if I opened the closet door, he'd be right there at the end of his cage trying to see inside that door.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Bob Clark, right out of OKC! http://bobclark.com/

He's got the best...but he's slightly more expensive. He's got super dwarfs, too.

If you want big, I'd probably stick with Bob Clark...he's raised some of the biggest retics in captivity, so I'd bet his offspring would most likely be consistently bigger...

I have one of his babies, and couldn't be happier. VERY healthy, calm, and eats good.

Did you check out http://market.kingsnake.com/index.php?cat=7 ? Theres some nice ones for sale on there now :)
The thing about kingsnake is I don't know who's reliable and who's not. I saw some baby retics for sale for around $100, but not sure if they come from a reliable source.

Sorry if I sound ignorant, stupid, or anything else under a similar catogory, but does he have a website?

It would be bobclark.com. It is a pretty interesting website. Bob Clark is the most reputable breeder of large pythons in the world, so I think you'd do good going with him.

However, just keep in mind that it never hurts to negotiate a price, as he is sometimes higher than most other breeders. So, if you find the same morph or pattern elsewhere for less, see if he'll give you the same deal.

http://bobclark.com/ is Bob's website. His prices appear a bit high, but most that have dealt with him say he's willing to match market value.

He posted the addy http://bobclark.com/

I dealt with Bob back in early 90's He was the creator of the albino Burms. I bought my first pair from him for 6 grand a piece, now dirt cheap. Check out the Thieves Punished link while there. I remember that was a real huge issue back then in Herp community.
