Residual heat

Hi, I am getting a snake and so have set their viv up with the heat emitter and my tarantula (brachypelma boehmei) tank is on top of that.

When I've looked this morning, there is some light misting on the top and sides of my Ts tank.

I have moved her tank and used my temp gun on the top of the snake viv, it's about 90⁰f at its warmest spot which was not directly under the T tank. Could the residual heat of the snake tank have caused this? Or could it have just been that the room temperature got a bit lower through the night?

If it is the tank, would a silicone mat under the Ts tank help to dissipate the residual heat?

Thanks in advance.

It sounds like the heat is driving moisture out of your T's substrate and it's condensing on the sides of the enclosure.

Just place a thick polystyrene sheet between the two tanks, or support the t's tank on some 1 inch wooden pieces.
