I rescued this Xenesthis sp. from a local pet store a few days ago. It was in really rough shape....severely dehydrated and it's abdomen was so shriveled I could not let it go. It has been feeding and doing better, but it's abdomen still looks terrible. There are bald patches and ugly spots all over, and these do not look like the typical bald patches from just kicking hairs. Will the spider make a full recovery or are these signs of a more serious disease?

Hard to say how it will do.
But I’d put money on it slowly plumping up over the next several months and then molting out into the typical beautiful black and purple.
Unless it is a mature male. I can’t quite tell from the photos

Odds are it will be fine but only way to know or wait and see. It could definitely heal some of the problems it had . Looks like it’s doing ok !
