Hello,

just wanted to share what i got from a local reptile show

a WC 5-6inch chaco gold knee for 25 bucks (plus a sweet arboreal
enclosure he/she was in) She had a larger butt and a stockier body
than the rest of em so maybe its a she. I know they are supposed to be docile but ive never dealt with a WC T and have not handled it yet to find out.. what are WC chaco temperaments usually like? she seems docile but i dont want her to bite me in the end.

Got a versicolor 1.5inch sling for $20.

2x LP slings for $20

found some guy selling a bunch of a. avics and he had a single what he
labeled "a metallica" 2-3inch, which i knew was not a metallica even
though he insisted.. long story short i got it from him for $20
bucks... i think its a versicolor and was wondering if you could help
me ID it.

Then as i was exiting i saw a 4inch smithi being sold in a critter
keeper, was told its a she bought from a breeder, haggled her down to
$50 figuring even if its a male its worth it. She has a huge butt
though so maybe its a she, about to molt too, was wondering if you
could help me sex it? I think its a he :|

o yea also got a curly hair 2inch sling for 5 bucks, i liked the case it was in haha

sorry for the wall of text,

Thanks for listening!

Yes that is an adult avicularia versicolor. Also butt size isn't a good way to detrmine sex. Males also can be fat. Nice finds though. Good price on the 1.5" versi and If that smithi is a female that's a steal. I've seen females that large go for $150.

Nice pickups!

Yeah, that's a versicolor.
The smithi, I'd say probably male... though I'd wait for a molt of course to confirm. Nice find! 1.5" males/unsexed go for around $50 here.

Hm at what point do versis gain their adult colorations, it really is fairly small, id say 3 inches and they grow to 4-5 right? I can probably sex it at this point too right?

You can sex molt sex it when it molts next. You'll see girly part or boy parts. Check out the sexing section. You'll find plenty of pics and information to help you out.

It appears you had a good day at the show and got some good deals on some nice spiders.

Great pics! Thanks!

Still looks like a male to me. It looks just like my male, who is about 2.5"
But, I've learned such things are much more obvious in real life, than at a single angle, single light sourced picture through plastic. Wait for a molt.:) Either way, (s)he should last a good long while.

As Hobo mentioned, the B.smithi certainly looks male, although you definitely got some great T's nonetheless.
