One of my older heat pads has lost most of its stick and i am using a heck of a lot of tape uneffectively to keep it on the side. Does anyone know of something i can buy to reapply the stickiness?

duct tape.
Tried it and it leaves horrible sticky marks behind. I haven't came up with a good solution for that problem. I have a good half a dozen old heat pads that lost their stick, and they are just colllecting dust.

The sticky cruddiness left behind by heat pads, and all kinds of tape, can be cleaned off with lighter fluid.

You could try double-sided carpet tape to re-apply the pad, I'd be careful with that though. Probably best to just duct-tape it across the back or something.

Yep. Vastly superior to duct tape for this particular application.

Cheers,
Dave
You got a third there,
Most aluminum tape is ment for high temps. The duct will wear out faster and leave more residue. I have the same pieces of aluminum tape on a few enclosures for about 3 years now and its survived several removals/ra-appliations.
