I've been looking at pictures and have been wondering, what is the difference between the Lamp heat source that have red lights? Is it any different than the regular colored lamps? Also, for the heating pads, do I just stick a heating pad that is supposed to go under the tank on the side of it? (Emporer scorp)

Just to clarify alittle more. The scorpion can't see the infrared wavelengths (the kind put out by the red heating lamps). That means as far as they're concerned, it's still dark out (which means they want to be active, as they're nocturnal), but you can see them just fine. On top of that, they emit heat, which obviously you need.

I use a little 50 watt one pointed down on one side of the tank, and I have no problem keeping temps ranged from 84 on the hot side to 78-80 on the cool side.

Pretty cool, couldn't find that kind of information on the regular info pages.

Thanks for heads-up.
