The Haplo "scratch" as you documented.. I take it this is common and why do you think the female does this?

Not sure. I have some ideas, but that will have to wait until after I have a bit more freedom with my research (I work in an insect lab). All haplos seem to do this and recently I had a female P. miranda do this as well.

Yeah, I saw this with a Haplo on video. Right after she killed the male..

From what I've seen over here, a female munching the male is somewhat odd for this genus. They seem to be always pissed off...until they breed....then the female does her thing, scratches, then returns to her burrow. The males just walk away slowly with a manly strut. No aggression by either party.
