I'm looking for a species of gecko that is in the pet trade, and is pretty small. My sister sent me some pictures she found online a while ago, and I can't remember what they were, but they were under 4", fully grown. I think even smaller than that, although I can't remember... They were tiny, and absolutely adorable. Back when I saw them, I wanted them, but wasn't ready for keeping them, I hadn't had any herp experience at the time. Now I'm looking into keeping geckos, and am trying to find the best species for me. I'd like to do some research on these little guys, but can't remember what they were! I think they may have been from somewhere in the middle east, if that helps any. I can't even remember if they were arboreal or ground dwelling, because at the time, I didn't even know there was a difference. If anyone can help me out, it would be great!

I'm going to try to find the link my sister sent me, hopefully its saved in my gmail account somewhere, but I'm not sure... It was over a year ago, so I can't remember much about them except that they were really tiny, and really cute, and were in the pet trade. Anything other than that, I have no recollection of...

I found it in my email- Israeli dune gecko, Stenodactylus sthenodactylus. Don't know how common they are in the pet trade, though...

I had no clue there were this many different types of geckos, though. So many different different genuses and everything! I've got tons of species to research before I decide on what I want to start with! Thanks for the help, guys!

If you want small also look into Tropiocolotes sp, Goggia sp, Sphaerodactylus sp, Gonatodes sp, Saurodactylus sp, etc etc

All are available in the hobby, you just need to know where to look.

I used to keep Stenodactylus, they are really cool and super easy to care for. Wish I would have kept them.
