How often do roaches maintain their post mout colors?

This guy has been this way for at least two weeks. He's way lighter than the rest of the colony. These are DiscoidXCranniifer. I'm thinking some might have a bit of fusca mixed in.

I've found that they darken up with in 2 days. So if he has been like that for 2 weeks i think he will stay like that. I have some dubia that look pale like that. And i have 2 discoid nymphs that are almost adults and they are the coolest sandfire/sunglow kind of a color. Have been like that since i got them 2+ weeks ago. Out of 400+ i want to breed them for sure i have never seen anything like it. Has anyone else?

Cheshire I have 1 identical to that, only difference the face pattern is just a mouth, but one of the antennae stayed tan color, it's odd.

You should post that in my "blaberus head design" thread.

Nice looking roach. Might be worth a try at selective breeding just to see what you can come up with.

This particular one I got from Double D, a few are from James (Blaberus) too.

Mine seems to have retained more of it's post moult colors than yours has.

I'm definitely planning on maintaining this stock and selective breeding traits out.

This roach happens to be female, so I'll be seeing more of these in the future.

Funny, mine's female too.

Mine seems to have retained more of it's post moult colors than yours has.

This one sticks out from the rest of em, the others are brownish all around and the wings are a bit darker. You can see behind mine, the head area is whitish, the others I have are much darker in that area.

Ok here's the lighter roach compared to my normal ones.

Normal (left) Light version (right)

You can clearly see the one on the left is much darker, especially the wings, not to mention it's smaller.

The one on the right is the oddball.

Oh, cool. Mine just looks like it's postmoult.

When I start getting more adults I'm going to start selecting for white wings and complete deaths heads in a seperate colony.

Maybe I should borrow one like that ;)

The first designer roaches, lol.

If I was going to breed I would have had the same ambition, but I wont be breeding unfortunetly.

But you, go for it! Whiter roaches with the deaths head would be a great looking roach, possibly new in the insect trade. ;)

If you can find a male to mate her with that will give you a good start, all mine are females so I will have no offspring.

Actually, more are maturing like this. I guess they're fuscaXcraniiferXdiscoidales.

We'll just see how things go from here on out.
