The humane society of the United States has lost its charity status. Granted they still have a lot of money saved so they can continue to spread their lies for a time but hopefully this will eventually slow down the rash of anti exotic legislation attempts at getting passed.

I didn't know that about the humane society. I knew about PETA for years. Glad I only ever donated goods to my local shelter.

Better get the entire picture. The charges against HSUS, which were expected to never make it into court, were brought by Ringling Brothers circus in retaliation for HSUS whistle blowing regarding elephant abuse.
It would have ended up costing HSUS more in legal fees than the $16 million Ringling Brothers demanded. This is the settlement after FOURTEEN YEARS of litigation.

My wife is a vet tech at a local shelter. The other day she got in an argument with her dad trying to explain to him that HSUS has nothing to do with her shelter or any other. He wouldn't believe her
