The way I caught my escapees was to corral them into deli cups. They DO run fast and will run into a delicup looking to hide. You just have to be careful not to catch their legs in the lid if they make a 180 once inside the deli cup!

Take care,

Are you trying to capture them outdoors, or escapees like Paul is describing?

If outdoors, a pitfall trap works well. This is simply a jar or other smooth-sided container burried up to it's lip in the soil. Try to do this in an area wher you've seen the spiders, obviously. If you burry it under some sort of cover, like an old board, it will be that much more likley to work. Spider falls in, and if it's a wolf, it won't be able to get out (they're not good at climbing). You will also catch other interesting bugs this way as well.

Be sure to:

1. Check the trap daily.

2. include a small piece of wood or styrofoam in the jar to serve as a "liferaft" in case it rains.

3. Dismantle the trap when you're done.
