Questioning on price

Hello,

I was thinking about getting myself a T, but one that is easier to keep and manage than a Pokie (as my bf bought a P. fasciata for himself). I looked at differents posts and saw that genus like Avicularia and Grammostola are usually good for beginners.

I just saw an ad from a guy that wants to sell his 2 Ts for 50$ CAN (46$USD). One male spiderling Grammostola aureostriata that comes with its container (doesn't precise the size) and one female juvenile A. avicularia that comes with its plastic tub (doesn't precise the size).

I would not have to pay shipping as he's in Montreal too, and so I will also have the chance to take a look at the Ts before buying them.

Do you think the price is right for those both Ts with their containers? And how could I be sure the avic is really a female?

Maybe I should ask him for pictures... :?

Any other advice will be taken into consideration and greatly appreciated! I want to be happy with my first purchase! :)

i believe things are generally a little more expensive in canada, even above the currency conversion

i would say if the cages are nice it is a good deal. if they are just plastic jugs then it depends... can find someone who wants to breed their chaco female? ifyou got part of an eggsac then you could trade or possibly even sell spiderlings. of course, you only have like... a ~10% of getting spiderlings (maybe even smaller if the male is old and not good at making the babies any more)

P. metallica and M. balfouri are usually less expensive in Canada.

Something to consider is that little grammostolas take AGES to grow big. Just something to bear in mind :)

Avic slings are just cool, I have two, one's a webbing machine and the other hasn't webbed an iota but eats like a garbage truck :D

thank you all guys :worship:

I think that first I'm gonna ask for pictures, so I'll see the specimens and the containers. Do I have the right to post them here to have your opinion or I can't because it's not my property?

If the avic is nice, top shape and big enough, and that the containers are not tiny pill vials or that kind of thing, maybe I'm gonna take them... It will also depend on if I get a better deal somewhere else...I know there are a lot of dealers on the net, but with the shipping costs it gets pricey really fast!

For sure there is still Tarantula Canada, I will have to check what they have in stock that could be interesting...

héhé no that's true, there is always something interesting! Also next time I will have to get the Bible from them! :D

It's nice to have one of the best dealers 30 minutes away from you...except for the budget I guess... :wall:
