Good day, I was planning to apply a falso bottom on one of my future scorp's enclosure. But I'm having this thing in mind that I just can't let go. Is it really ok to have a false bottom? Will it not attract mites since there's a stagnant water under? Thanks!

If you have a tropical species then yes its fine, I think water becomes stagnant even without the false bottom when it starts to sink to the bottom anyways..

Mites usually show up if you leave dead food around and what not.

Just keep it ventilated and try to get some rollie polies or isopods, they will help keep your tank clean :D

Thanks! Yup, indeed it is a tropical scorp. An Emperor hehe! I was just a bit paranoid because one of my tarantula enclosure that is always moist attracted some mites before... They didn't harm my Tarantula yet which bought me time to clean the enclosure. I was just thinking same thing could happen in a false bottom setup. Thanks again! : )
