Hi All,
Been awhile since I posted, hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.

I’m confident that my husbandry and enclosure is adequate, but since this species is my next tier animal I figured I better post. Just to make sure and to also see if there are any improvements to be made or hazards Im unaware of. The health of my animal is more important than my confidence. Probably should have done this before I housed it, better late than never I suppose. Still a rookie...

I’ve been overflowing the water dish when needed until recently because of a mold outbreak. Currently letting sub dry out a bit to combat that issue.

Food offering, chopped mealworm , has been roughly once a week while observing abdomen plumpness as a gauge. This one has been a good eater for me so far.

I’ve carved out a cavity in a piece of cork bark and used brass screws to anchor it to the side of the enclosure. I thought using hardware instead of an adhesive would make for an easier future rehousing. Maybe i should have used stainless instead of brass?

Additionally I’ve made a blind out of cardboard to coax it out of its dirt tube that goes into the sub. It seems to work because I always see it

Looks good for now. Here’s my only complaint. I personally would have leaned the cork bark. As the T grows, it will allow more room for it to adjust and expand its dirt curtain hide. However I suppose you can adjust down the road. This species grows quick.

I’ve been debating if this was a good idea. I think its going to result in rehousing sooner than latter. Like you said, not enough growing room. Thanks for the input!

@Poonjab and @viper69, based on your input, I’ll rehouse today. I have another AMAC box that’ll get setup at some point and I’ll repost.

Taxes, death and solid advice from you guys is something I can always count on, thanks!

Yes I would, and I would also add a good amount on the lid so air draws out
How’s this template? Two rows on the outside edges, front and back. I was only planning on drilling the outer 3 rings on the lid, sufficient?

*edit*
maybe trim down the cork bark some more so its less of a tube and more of a flat? To provide more growing room?

settled in fairly quickly and appears to be in pre-molt now. Growth rate is faster than I expected.

@Smotzer, I saw those same style containers at the hardware store today. There’s an interesting variety of options with that manufacturer. When I decide on an obligate burrower, I believe I’ll use them. Thanks again for posting that image, I may have walked by them without a 2nd glance had you not posted.

Yeah no problem!! They will work for that as well at least for those that dig straight down. I think the manufacturer is something & Gardens if I remember correctly
