Greetings from Argentina.
I have two irminias from the same egg sac, aproximately 1.5 to 2 years old max.
One has the normal coloration of an irminia, deep black and the tiger'ish gaster. The other one is quite smaller and has just molted into a strange coloration and quite squelettique legs
I know it may be a signal of a male tarantula but i think the color difference appear in the last molt; this tarantula is to young to have matured, nor she does not have pedipals that i can see.
Ive read that there have been some hybrid between irminias and cambridgei in the hobby, can this be the case? Maybe is just a male tarantula.

This is a irminia mm...
Males from cambridgei and irminia look very similar, but the orange signs on the tarsus look more like irminia.

It's different looking because you have a mature male P. irminia.
But how the hell has he matured in 1 and a half year? I though he was a male but no pedipals either.
And he looks much smaller than normal males compared with my friends Male Irminia.
That is why im so confused.
By the coloration i also think he is a male but its really weird.

It's not unheard of for males of faster growing species, like Psalmopoeus or Poecilotheria species to reach maturity in 1-1.5 years, especially at higher temperatures. There can also be variations in size at maturity and coloration between males of the same species. Pretty sure you've got a male P. irminia.

they can mature in as little as 10 months...no kidding....a year plus is perfectly normal though for a male to mature.

No pedipalps...all ts have pedipalps...the word you are looking for is emboli...and if you look closely, they will be there, on the underside of those palps.

As for the size...well there is always a HUGE variance in the size of MMs, its pretty common for them to mature at small sizes.

Here is an example of just how different mature males look from females (and non-mature males for that matter)
