Providing a day/night cycle

I share my bedroom with a T. Albo and I’m a little worried about providing an adequate day/night cycle. There’s no other room in the house where their enclosure can be kept and I don’t have a sitting room or office space so when I’m at home I spend the majority of my time in my room. Most nights I usually go to bed around midnight but tonight for example I’m only just going to bed and it’s 1:35am. What I’m worried about is the fact that whilst I’m awake past sunset my bedroom light is on. Should I cover the enclosure with a blanket or something if I’m gonna be up late or even past say 9pm? How many hours of darkness does a tarantula need? Am I overthinking it?

I often do maintenance during those hours or later you may be ok , is it getting much sunlight during daytime? Mine are In a basement and do fine tiny window 🪟 . Obviously they’re nocturnal also.

There’s no direct sunlight but there’s a large window and on sunny days the room gets pretty bright. Recently it’s been pretty cloudy though.

Yeah that’s fine I wouldn’t worry. I’m sure once the lights are off they go back to doing tarantula things ! If they even notice the artificial light like they would actually sunlight ℹ cannot say .

I don't think you have anything to worry about.
I keep most of mine in a closet. There's a timer with a small led on a twelve hour cycle and I'm not even sure that's necessary.

The light is not the problem, they won't appear until its quiet.
Once the light is off and they don't sense vibration, they will appear.

She does have a hide, she never uses it though. But yeah she certainly has the option.

I’m lucky in that she’s actually out all the time. She’s a very good display tarantula 😃

Why is she out all the time, and not using her hide at all, not normal.
I’m not sure. It might be because there a large fake leaf over the top of her hide that she can also use for cover. But then again this week she has just stayed up one end of her enclosure so I don’t think she’s utilising the leaf. Although she has done in the past. I did think that the door to her hide might be too small (it’s a coconut shell that came with her enclosure when I rescued her). She just puts the front half of her body in it. But I checked and I’m pretty sure she can fit. Although I’m gonna get a different type of hide and change it at her next rehouse just in case. She’s my first tarantula so I’d appreciate any insight. She’s only been with me just short of a month.
