I picked up a little container with two egg cases for $8 at Osh today :D The instructions on the container say to just put them outside and they'll hatch when it gets warmer and not much else. How big a container should I get for these two egg cases? Would a 10 gallon tank be big enough? How warm should I keep it for them to hatch?

Thanks! :)

attach the oothaca to a stick or branch "zipper" out, keep them around 70-80 deg mist the substrate , you want humidity, after they hatch, Ive found a fruit fly culture is there best first feeding........after a week If you want to keep a bunch, separate them in to smaller containers, they like to canibalize .........good luck...........Cheers.....Isaac What species are they?:D

Want to buy one of the egg cases from me? lol I just want a few mantids, and I feel kinda bad about releasing them into the wild XD

Also, there's a lot of them up for sell on ebay :)

I found an mantid ootheca last year and they hatched a few weeks ago. I tried pinhead crix. I can backup magikscorps by saying that I found fruit flies work better for babies. The fruit flies climb everywhere so they come close to the mantids more often while the crix usually stay on the ground. I got a little worried about hungry desperate crix attacking a molting mantid too.
