Some sites mentioned that a worm or cricket powdered with vitamins and/or minerals is essential... how do I powder the feeders and what supplement powder should i use?

Hey. Can you post a link to the sites you mentioned? Just curious and interested since I never used any powdered vitamins onto my feeders.

It's for reptiles as well as T's. Several site mentioned it. One site even give a name for a supplement. Nutrobal- it is a reptile calcium balancer that can be dusted to a feeder.
Here are the links:

Gut-Loading & Supplements
The insects in the diet are not very nutritious on their own and so should be gut-loaded before being fed to your Chilean Rose Tarantula. Leave them in a tub with bran, dark greens and/or some fruit and veg such as orange or grated carrot. Be careful not to raise the humidity in the tub your feeder insects are in too much by adding wet food, as this can kill locust very quickly. This ensures that your insects are full of nutrients for your Tarantula, just as they would be in the wild. However, feeder insects are still very low in calcium, which is a very important part of your Tarantulas diet. In the wild, Chilie Roses would pick up calcium through a more varied diet and accidental ingestion of soil, but in captivity a supplement such as Nutrobal should be used instead. Around twice a week the insects should be dusted in supplement powder before being fed to your Tarantula.

They only want to sell their garbage, tarantula's don't need calcium, they don't have bones! It is believed that calcium can cause molt problems, that's one of the reasons why it's not recommended to feed vertebrate prey to your Ts.

And their digestive system only allows them to take meals in liquid form (they have digestive enzyme used for liquefying the prey) so "accidental ingestion of soil" is BS.

I agree. One of the good things about tarantulas is how little they require. Make sure the crickets are fed well and let the T chow down!

Yeah, tarantulas don't need vitamin supplements regardless as to what marketing tactics those particular websites are using. Disregard it, its just not true.

In the wild they eat raw normal insects. They don't need to be dusted with god knows what to be fed in captivity which is exactly why I don't own a bearded dragon.
