Hello, I’m new here and I really want to see what kinds of jumping spiders people are keeping, Here are photos of 3 of mine
Phidippus Audax, a mystery Phidippus species, and a humongous colonus hesperus, he has molted since the picture was taken and now looks a lot different. 681458D1-A583-4C12-AF26-0321E0F4E389.jpeg 0F2D52FE-5A83-4313-B5CF-6151A6BEA0B9.jpeg B17DE4FD-60D8-4E93-9E9E-6A161F7A67D3.jpeg It doesn’t matter if it was captive bred or wild caught I just want to see them all!:D

This is Miss Frodo, a gravid Phidippus otiosus that I rescued from the web of a Kukulcania hibernalis.

I spent over half an hour using tweezers to free her from the silk. (If you’ve ever handled Kukulcania silk, you know how it sticks to everything.) In the first picture, you can still see some silk on left legs two and three.

I don’t think the jumper was actually bitten by the southern house spider. She wouldn’t eat any of the prey I had, so I released her a few days later.

I have a question - is the general round shape of the body the main indicator of being gravid? Also, does being gravid mean it is the best time to try to pair them to mate with a male?

If your spider is gravid, it means it is pregnant, if you tried to pair it with a male while it is gravid it will most likely try to eat him, or just hide. Females are generally more round than males and most of the time a huge female is gravid, sometimes it could just be one that had a large meal recently.

I keep seeing these cool threads where people are posting their tarantulas, or whipspiders but why not jumping spiders! I recently got some new P. regius so I will go first. 514C0BC6-6D19-4620-82AC-F9A36CB48993.jpeg 5D8AA3FF-501A-47CF-878C-806BB7E505B8.jpeg

I'm looking for a mature p.
regius to pair up with my female. Does anyone know of any available?

I ended up releasing her, but here is a gravid jumper I rescued from a spiderweb. She was so hopelessly entangled that it took half an hour with tweezers to untangle her.

She’s beautiful!
