I posted this already on Fat Frogs Forum but still haven't got any answers.

I'm concerned about my juvenile as he passes a lot of waste even though he's hardly had any food. Last I recall he took only a couple of nightcrawler pieces or in the last few days. He passes so frequently I changed the water twice just last night and again this morning.

I notice his waste is also somewhat thin and almost clear, compared to the much darker matter he used to pass. I also noticed come undigested roach parts. I used to feed him B. lateralis nymphs but then he began to not show any interest in them and would only take nigthcrawlers (my only other food source as of present).

Is something possibly ailing him?

I think I should also mention he doesn't seem to have lost any weight and he is quite responsive to touch and always tries to scamper away when I try to fish him out to throw out the soiled like any healthy frog would do. And the temps is kept a little above 80. I use a heat lamp with infrared bulb on only one side. I like to give my herps gradients so they choose where they want to go.

Is it shed skin that your seeing possibly Eightleggedfreak? At times when the Budgett's is shedding the skin isn't all eaten, and it can become free floating. It even has a transparent look to it.

How are the temps in the tank? Sometimes if the enviornment isn't warm enough it's pretty hard for the frogs to digest the food. That could be the reason why some of the roach parts aren't digested. I've never fed my budgetts anything but nightcrawlers and crickets on the occasion, and Dingbat has never had any digestion problems.

Another thing could be possible internal parasites. Sometimes they can lead to malformed feces and undigested food items as well. Kind of hard to say for sure though.

EDIT : Sorry, just noticed that you said the temps were a little over 80. I honestly think that you're seeing bits of shed skin that has just not been eaten.

Thanks for the input but I rather doubt that. I'll see if I can get pics of what I'm talking about the next time I see it.

UPDATE: I came home about half an hour ago and cleaned Selkie's (the frog) water. It was soiled with i KNOW was waste. And, after having some dinner myself, he even took a large piece of nightcrawler. I guess the secret was to rinse the worm in WARM water before offering it. Although he did take ones soaked in cool to room temperature water but, whatever. I just hope this is a sign that there is nothing wrong here after all.

You might want to consider using a filter for the water also.
