popping carapace during molt

Has anyone actually heard the carapace popping? My adult B. Smithi molted for the first time in my care this weekend. We found her on her back in her hide. She really was not moving a lot. About 20 minutes later, I heard an loud pop. I went over to look at her and she had begun her molt.

Am I crazy thinking the sound I heard was the carapace popping open?

Maybe a little crazy lol..........no you might have heard it, I have heard it a few times but it was not loud by any means. It was more of a weird crackling sound like something was being torn. I tend to stare without blinking for long periods of time when I watch my bigger Ts molt. Its fun for me. It will never get old.
