Poecilotheria metallica Pocock, 1899

Good lord.. I was looking at rick west's T pics and I came across this one pokey.

Since I haven't come across this pokey yet , I assume it's rare. But oh man, that T looks awesome! My dream pokey! Anyone have any info on these? Or know anyone who has any???

Poecilotheria metallica. Not in the U.S. hobby yet. Likely never will be. They are very rare even in their own natural habitat. I've heard rumors that there have been eggsacks over in Europe. No idea if the rumors are true. I think Rick is the only person to even have photographed one.
When the rumors started, whenever they were supposed to make it to the U.S. the price for s'lings would've started at 150.00 to 175.00. Who knows what the future may bring to the hobby though.

Yeah, could be doctored... But I have to go with the metallica.. If I had to choose one.. Which in this case I'd have to choose both if I could... MUST HAVE RARE POKIES... =D

Unfortunately, the same situation with the metallica exists with the P. miranda. Again, it's rumored that they are in the hobby in Europe, but not in the U.S. hobby yet. There has been a local dealer here that has sworn up and down that he's getting P. miranda in. He's been saying that for mmmm...'bout 6 months now. He's totally playing with my emotions man!
