Poecilotheria differences.

I need help regarding differences between P.formosa and P.Regalis.

the story is i bought a pokee sling as p.formosa months ago. but after lastweeks molt im doubting if its realy a p.formosa since it has yeloow markings on the legs like p.regalis.

i hope someone can help me with this.

P.formosa does'nt have yellow bands under the legs. So it cant be P.formosa

so how to i confirm if its a p.regalis? i heared that p.striata has yellow markings the same as p.regalis. is that true?

Poecilotheria regalis is the only species in the genus that has a white (well, pale) band in the anterior portion of the ventral opisthosoma, covering the posterior pair of booklungs and the area between them.

+1 this is how you will tell.... there will be no doubt when you see the cream color band.

yeah, well at what stage does the cream belly band develop. i have a sling i bought from a well reputable breeder, and its molted 3 times in my care. its startin to look alot like it should, however, the yellow is still not really there and no band yet ( its only around a 2" sling)

you should see the cream band around 3"

cool.. maybe next molt then ... it looks like a regalis so far, minus the yellow and the band. im sure itll be fine, as i bought it from a good dealer/breeder. i guess its abdomen isnt even black yet on bottom so well see.. guess its still in "sling" phase afterall.... im waitin to call it juvie untill i see the yellow lol
