It should be fine and still eat since it still has one, however I don't know if it will grow back. If it is mature than no, since it will no longer molt, but even if it isn"t mature there is a chance that it will never grow back.

Its still small, about size of a thumb, excluding claws and tail. Its just a hole there next to its other jaw. Ill try to feed it later.

i highly doubt it will grow back even if it still has molting to do. if there are some out there missing legs and chela and doing just fine, then I'm assuming it will be ok in the end. I'm definitely no expert on scorps but maybe there are those out there better informed/more experienced who can give you a more difinative answer...

Ok thanks. Anyway its doing fine, its eating a large cricket right now. Another question, are lychas scutilus communal? Because i saw 3 of them living in the same crevice.

The only thing I've seen regenerate on a scorpion is the tip of the stinger. The case you have is new to me, never heard of it in the hobby so it will be interesting to see what happens. I would bet it will not grow back, but ...I'm curious.

It doesn't.......this is a much debated subject (regeneration in scorpions) on these boards, so yes, I am going to say: use the search function....

You can keep them in small groups in captivity yes. In their habitat, like you have observed, they exhibit gregarious behaviour too.
I like smaller groups of 2-3 females with one male....If you keep more males in one enclosure, there is a risk that they will fight for territory, food, females and usually the smallest one is *&^#$#$#%&^&

Hi,

They are incredibly easy to sex. Males have very elongated tail segments and are larger than females, who are shorter and more plump.
