We bought our first Tarantula (CurlyHair) in February. Yesterday we saw her covering an egg sac. I don't know what to do now. Can I still feed her crickets. And what about the sac?

Keep in mind if you are not 100 % sure she was bred, it might be a phantom sac (a sac with unfertilized eggs).

She should guard the sac and will probably not eat. Disturb her as little as possible. Keep temp and humidity at optimum, cover her cage partially if need be. Do not get the eggsac wet.

She will probably rearrange the cage and carry the sac around with her.

I just pulled a sac from my S. rubronitens female at 31 days. Still eggs, some had started to rot. I now have the eggs in incubators, and will see in a week or two if they are still viable.

Good luck with your female!

The place we bought her from said he did try to mate her last year but she killed the male in a couple of minutes. He did not think they mated but not positive. What do I cover her cage with? Should I try to feed her or just let her be? I'm soo freaked out. Thanks for helping me. Heres a picture I took little bit ago.

Do I feed T while she has eggsac?

My curlyhair made an eggsac last night. She hasnt eaten in about 1 1/2 weeks. Should I try to give her a cricket? I keep getting mixed answers from google. I don't know what to do. We just got her in Feb and still new to us.

No need to feed her.. Only need to cover her if you can't put her in a place that is dark and peaceful.

Tarantulas can go quite awhile without food if they have to. Your tarantula will be just fine so long as you keep the humidity up.
