Hi. I just got back from purchasing a rose hair from a pet shop and she had an egg sac with her. When I went to get her she was sitting on the sac but when I purchased her they put the sac in one box and her in the other. My question since I touched the sac, will she be able to smell my scent and then not care for it? The sac must have been laid yesterday since the owners didn't notice it. Can I put the sac in another tank? How long should it take to hatch little ones? I need to know how to care for the sac and incubate it. Any help would be great. Thank you. Craig.

There's no way of telling how long the eggsac has been there, so it's anyone's guess. Sometimes females will make infertile wggsacs and carry those around and just drop it one day.

How should I care for the sac? Can I just leave it in a container in my garage? Should I open up the sac? Yeah, iam hoping its not unfertile.

I would definitely return the eggsac to the mom.. she is not like a bird, and most likely will take the sack back... If not you do have some other options, such as an incubator, but it seems this is your first time, and it is best to leave the eggsac with the mom..Normally around 30- 35 days after the sac has been with her it is a good idea to pull it out and check to see if there are "eggs with legs" and at this point you can separate them, or wait until they molt once and become actual spiderlings and then separate.. best of luck :)

Well I put the egg sac next to her and when I went back out to check on her She started grasping the sac. The only problem with her caring for it is iam affraid of her eating it. I would rather care for the sac myself but don't know what temps and humidity to keep it?

Well she is still taking care of it so that is a very good sign that you are about to be a daddy.

she left the sac and was in her hide this morning. I took the sac and put it infront of her hide that she had webbed off, came back and she pulled the sack in with her. Hope it is safe with her.
