What caresheets fail to mention is that platymeris biguttata can fly - that shocked me at first since their wings looked so small. They can fly, and well too. I had a tall tank they couldn't climb but until I covered it one managed to bounce itself off the edges just right to zig-zag out every night. That was something.
And I was never afraid of being bitten by one, but now I am. I allways wondered how they could so easily hold onto prey when it looked like they were only touching the edge of the prey. Turns out it's this weird little thin thread that they force into their food and it's quite long too. I watched this with absolute amazement. I'll see if I can take some photos but no promises folks.
The cutest is the fear/before mating head rub they do when they rub their snout on the chest causing that insane noise, they seem to do it when scared too.
Has anyone else experienced this? It's really odd! Didn't think I'd find out so much in so little time!
