Raising some Urodacus planimanus. Started with 12 and so far have lost one, it ate very little and remained small....eventually karked it. Some of them are looking like they might be readying for ecdysis.

small tub, screw top lid that seals. Sticky tape over cricket hole.

Some broken terracotta pot for hiding spots.

2nd instar U planimanus looking like it might be nearing a potential ecdysis.

In the wild about 4.5 years. Unknown in captivity, it depends on whether they will undergo ecdysis more than the usual once per year.

Ecdysis once per year? Nice scorps but slow grower. I thought the V. spinigerus was already the slowest.

All the Urodacus are the same...once per year except I1-I2 of course which occurs within a few weeks.

ohhhh....urodacus. I was thinking Uropletus planimanus. I was wondering why they look like what I thought they were. I wish you aussies could export scorps legally.
