My mature male fireback huntsman passed just today, found him in a death curl at the base of the enclosure. Started securing him in place with pins but I don't know much about the whole process, I know for tarantulas you need to cut them open to remove internal organs, but would that be needed for a smaller huntsman or can they just be dried/frozen?

As you can tell it's a pretty amateur and crappy pinning, but all I want is to hold him in place. He's very small for his species, only about 6 cm legspan when they normally reach 10+ cm. Very colourful for a huntsman (still not nearly as vibrant as the females get though). The pics don't really show the colour

The abdomen will probably shrivel up a bit, but it should be fine. You can just leave it in an area with good air circulation that's fairly dry and leave it for a couple weeks.
