Any of you plan on attending the 2011 "Invertebrates in Education and Conservation Conference" in Tuscon, AZ this summer? Or, did anyone from here attend the 2010 conference?

(here is the site link http://www.sasionline.org/2011conf/call4pprs/Propinfo.html)

I was thinking about going since I have family in Tuscon, but i didn't know if it would be too "academic" for a newb tarantula owner.

If you are going to be here for SASI's conference, you might want to catch the American Tarantula Society's conference as well. Usually they run back-to-back, and sometimes at the same venue. This time around the ATS conference will take place on July 21-24, and the SASI conference July 26-31. The SASI conference will be in Rio Rico, south of Tucson, and the ATS conference will take place on the north side of Tucson.

I expect that talks in both conferences will be a comfortable blend of scientific and hobbyist. My wife has done presentations for SASI before, as well as for the ATS. She'll be doing one for the ATS this time around.
