Martin,

How in the hell did you get yours out in the open long enough to take such a great pic? I don't think mine ever leaves it's burrow :(

This one was imported as "Haplopelma minax". =;-)
I can kind of see why someone could confus it for C. Paganus, but I'm not so sure about H. Minax.

Martin, you are the answer to a maiden's prayer. I suspect the specimen in my picture below (whom I picked up for a song at a local reptile show, mainly to rescue her from the cricket-infested woodbark prison she was being kept in) of being this species and have been looking at pictures of various Haplopelma ever since I got her, trying to get an ID. Your picture is one of the best I've seen. Since I also have a mature male of the same species who was being sold at the same time and intend to try to breed them (though I'm not sure if the female is fully mature--you can see she's not very large), an ID would be very helpful!

Jeez Joy,

You are a true "arachno-whisperer".
Nice pics, Martin, Scott, and Joy. Here's one of my females, in fuzzy pic form.

I'm beginning to suspect Joy must have a really realistic looking pair of fake hands she uses to convince us of her godlike ability to handle anything ;)

Because Martin does not use red velvet substrate like me =D

Here's the mature male I bought. Looks a lot the same to me.

No, CM, the hands are real, but I'd be tempted to invest in a fake pair if I ever got another B. boehmei! I'd rank boehmei over T. apophysis for itchiness anyday.
