Physics of spider feet

Here is an interesting article about spiders and how they 'stick' to surfaces. The subject of the study appears to be a wolf spider, and they say it could hold 170x it's own weight while hanging from the ceiling! Sorry if this is already posted somewhere.

...how exactly would they test that 170x it's weight thing?

with AFM and amount of electricity produced in pjezoelectric crystal (not sure of spelling as I studied in Lithuanian :rolleyes: )

i know they can with physics and equations and things like that, i mean with a real jumping spider.

They just tie 170 spiders to it and make it carry them across the ceiling?
