Phormictopus cancerides how bad are their bites

So Im really close to getting a Phormictopus cancerides but I looked at the bite reports and tried google and didnt really see what their venom was like I know they will try and bite you if they get the chance but I was wondering if anyone knew what their bite was like how toxic the venom was what the effects were like you know that kinda thing.

They have very mild bites. Slight swelling and tenderness of the bite site are the only real concerns.

thank you that is good to know now I have no worries not that I was planing on getting bit but you never know

Ah... You've been reading that book, I think it's the "Comprehensive Guide to Tarantulas", or something, where he brings up P. cancerides being accused of having a dangerous bite. Personally, I don't buy it. their venom isn't any worse then the 'general Tarantula'.

And u can't go by one person's experience anyway, some people are just more affected then others.
also what if the one person was only bit once the T may or may not have used its full amount of venom on the person that one time

I edited my post and took that part out becuase Scolopendra had already answered that for u. I was just saying if you only find one bite report, that won't always say exactly what it's gonna be like.

but as for what u were saying, usually with a T, your gonna get a good sized dose, some animals are apt to release less venom for defense, but T's are gonna give u enough to get the symptoms.

I'd worry more about mechanical damage or the bite becoming infect more so than the venom.
