IMG_0575.jpeg IMG_0579.jpeg IMG_0582.jpeg IMG_0589.jpeg Hi all! I’m new here and new to the world of Ts. I just got my first - a 2nd year juvenile Phlogius sp. Kuranda l. She’s really cool and already webbing up her hide. I have her in a glass terrarium (unfortunately it has a hard mesh lid but I’ve taped it up so she won’t get a leg stuck). Being a fossorial lady, I’ve tried to give her enough substrate to burrow in but so far she’s just chilling in the hide I put in for her. From what I’ve read some people put in a water dish and some don’t - I did just because I think it can’t hurt to have another option for drinking. It’s damp but not wet in there and the glass is fogging up a bit. I’ll wait a couple of days for her to settle in before I offer her some food. Have I missed anything? Or does it look ok? Thanks!

I personally would had filled it halfway with dirt or more , but the plants look nice I don’t have any fancy fake plants . My containers are kinda bland , show pics of this taped up lid so we can see how safe it is . I take it that rock is soft?
Welcome to ab ! Wish I had tropical animals in my state like your country. 🤠🤣 I would be out catching bugs.

I think I’ll top it up with some more substrate. The rock is fake but made for an aquarium I think. It’s a little rough inside - I want to file it down a bit but I don’t know how to get her out! She’s hidden right up in a little crevice inside! Any ideas on how to get her out to replace it?
Here are some pics of the lid - I’ve literally just covered it in strips of tape so the holes are covered but I can change it if you have any other suggestions? Thanks for the reply!

Do you have ventilation somewhere? If you have taped up all the ventilation on top, you need to make some new ventilation holes somewhere.

Could replace mesh with plexiglas and drill vent holes

I’ve been using Zilla cages for years no Ts got stuck in mesh , but you can’t block off all the ventilation and if the tape sticky siders towards the spider, it could still get stuck. It seems certain types of woven measure are dangerous, and others aren’t. But who knows what is safe . .. 🫤

Thanks everyone for your input. The tape is not sticky side down! The photos are showing the inside of the lid. The enclosure is made of glass so how would I go about making the mesh safe while also allowing ventilation?

Dono I posted here and I ran out of money before figuring out what to do . But you might have better success.

With one of my enclosures I ripped out the mesh and replaced it with a piece of plastic basket

Usually the advice is to replace mesh with plexiglass and drill or melt holes. Also there is a seller on etsy with pre-made replacement lids for these kinds of enclosures.
