:confused: hi , went looking for peatmoss and could not find any in the local stores:mad: but i was wondering if any peat would do:? though im worried about the acidity

Hey Ith,

You should be able to find it in any gardening store. I don't know if you have Wal-mart or Home Depot in the UK, but they should carry it in stores like that as well in their gardening dept.

How you doing?

You may have a difficulty finding peat because I've heard that peat bog exploitation has been a problem in Europe (particularly in Ireland). They may have some sort of ban, or control on it making it difficult to find. The acidity is why it is good actually, because it retards mold growth in the enclosure. Some alternatives to peat are coconut fibre (bed-a-beast, which you can purchase online or from a local pet store) or even natural potting soil, they just don't retard fungus as well, but positivly they hold in humidity better.
