So I found a spider that I thought was dead...a hobo.
I took the spider inside, wanting to preserve its body, (I thought it was frozen from winter, but its not THAT cold out.) but when I held the dead thing in my palm, I stroked its spinneretts and noticed SILK was coming out and attatching to the end of the pen!!
Do dead spiders produce silk?????
Then apon examining the body, I noticed its abdomen is still round and plump, it has not lost its shape. And I first noticed it dead yesterday. Also, its legs are still in the perfect standing position, not curled under.
Am I being crazy or is this thing actually not dead and maybe paralysed???
What on earth could cause that if it was??
