Hello everyone,
I am fairly new to the site, I have been reading it since I began my journey owning and caring for jumping spidersusso the backstaory is this. I bought a female p.regius about 3 weeks ago. This past Monday she laid a clutch of eggs. She ate very well before laying and she was guarding her eggs until today, Thursday. Today she decided to step outside the little ledge she laid them on and started looking for food and water. She accepted a meal worms later in the evening. Now I know she was wild caught. And she might have been gravid, but now I'm not sure if these eggs are fertile. As she left her nest. Is there a chance they can be fertile? How can I tell? Also, can I still mate my spider? I actually bought a pair in order to mate them, but I was waiting until my spring break to do so, but then this happened. So would I put her in danger if I try to mate her now? Would the male even want her? I know p.regius look for "virgin" females so I'm unsure if she would be rejected, or eaten, or if she would eat him. Any advise would help. Thanks!
