P murinus

i woke up today and found that my P murinus just molted
i noticed that he got his tibial hooks
just wondering how long these guys live after they get their hooks?
i heard rosea's usually live for about a year or so
is it the same for the P murinus ?

I would estimate that it will live between 6 months and a year. They will certainly not last as long as a G. rosea.

I don't think so, from what I understand a G. rosea male can live several years after hooking out, I don't think many other mature males live that long.

I heard that they normaly mature smaller then the maximum size, sometimes way smaller, is that right?

Mature males of most species tend to be smaller than adult females. It isn't always the case but overall it is.

From what ive seen they both mature at about the same carapace size but females continue to grow and they end up with a similar leg span.
Mature males leg span is amazing
8 months is probably a good estimate for life span after maturity

yeh i was wondering about the size
he is about 3- 3 1/2 inches, i thought it was a little to small for hooks

yeah thats what I was saying, I heard that is pretty common to the murinus male mature at about 3 inches

I don't know about average size of a mature male, but this one was 5" easy.

Here he is in a 4" deli cup ready for transport and not too happy about it lol.
