Found this little guy yesterday, I think it's a Neoscona sp.

During night time I put this metal ring in a bath filled with water and the spider on its top, so it can't escape... Fortunately it has made its web on the ring :)

great idea with the bath tub. it was kinda forced to make its web there.cool way to setup a web maker.thanks for the ideas :?

That's really cool!

If you give it some kind of retreat/hide at the top it will be happier during the day, and be more likely to stay put.

I think you're right about Neoscona, but I don't know which one.

Looks like A.diadematus to me. Nice set-up...very cool.

Hey JPD,
As far as I know, A. diadematus have little 'spikes' all over their legs, this one has none... and therefore I don't think it belongs to genus Araneus...

Not the best pictures but what about Larinioides patagiatus or similar species?
