okay, i know just a few days ago i started a thread with pics of my Poecilotheria formosa's molt. Well, all of those pics sucked so here are the best ones i could take with my P.O.S camera. i spent like 2 hrs getting these perfect, so if these aren't good then i don't know what to say or do.

One is the molt with the flash on, one is without the flash.

sooo.. what do you think, M or F?

There's a section on these boards for sexing molts... this isn't it.

Hard to tell from your P.O.S camera :)

Do YOU see a flap inside between the book lungs ?

okay... i give up, that's the only cam i have access to.

it has one of those semi-circle slits in it... is that a characteristic of both males and females or just females?

i see no little protruding flap. would it be sticking out?

it's really hard to tell, I know pokies have fused spermathicae, but man this is rediculous. augh....

It is very easy with species like ornata, or sometimes fasciata. I'm not sure of its credibility with formosa.

About sexing the exuvium, the little semi-circle you refer to, sounds like what you're looking for, does it stick out?

put the skin on a clear plastic tupperware lid and then light it up from underneath and take pics like that... no flash. i actually had to stack something like three lids together to filter just the right amount of light, so you might have to work a bit

if it is female it is VERY easy to see when it is backlit like that

alright cacoseraph, ill try that here in a bit..

and sean -- the exuvium sticks out very very little. this specimen is 4"+, so it should be easy to tell...
