So a friend of mine acquired a 4 ft rainbow boa from a PetCo where it was relinquished supposedly for having mouth rot. Honestly I see no signs of rot but there are bite wounds on the nose that are healing very nicely. Well, my friend doesn't have room for a snake but both of us having worked at that PetCo know how...difficult it is to get vet care for a herp. She offered him to me. (I assume him because of the presence of spurs and a very long tail) I met him tonight and he's a doll. He seemed quite content to perch on the top of my head for half an hour. {D Definitely a very active snake.

Rainbow boas are to me some of the best boas around. they are excellent hunters and never go off feed unless they are sick or in shed mode.

I love my rainbow he/she always gives me a show when I feed her live mice/rats and never comes out with a scratch.

it seems like she is growing bigger and bigger by the week if anything ever happened to my baby id be sad/pissed for a long time.

he/she is as long as my arm is...

Leila, you seem to be picking up free snakes right now. Congrats on that and your new animal. Post some pics if you can, especially the nose section. I had a RTB that got bit by a rat and was given to me. If it does not get infected, it should shed most of the scar off.

If the wound is open, you can put some neosporin on it (withOUT pain relief) and that will help it heal quicker.

Good luck with your new addition. :)

Oh it seems to be already healed. Just some scarring on the tip of his nose. I'm going to take a closer look once I bring him home then it's off to the vet for a check up and fecal.

Jethro (lol) is definitely not a superb example of the species like yours but pretty nonetheless.
