As you can see, she's grown a fair bit. :)

More pics to come as she hardens up. :)

soooo...i have a question this has been bugging me(no pun intended). Does "OBT" stand for "Orange Bitey Thing" or "Orange Baboon Tarantula"? i am quite puzzled by this...but this is probably a stupid qestion

Both. "Orange Bitey Thing" is, of course, more tongue-in-cheek. ;)

I wish I had a camera with a nice macro, when she molted, her molt was just shy of 5" and she did get bigger, but I'm not gonna prod her out of her web hide to measure. I've only seen her out once and she was HUGE, I didn't have a ruler handy. As for her date last night, it didn't happen. He sat on top of her web for 2.5 hours after being shark tanked with her all day.

Is that hemolyph on the joint where the right palp meets the carapace?

Probably. I dabbed it off with some tissue paper and there was no further bleeding. She's fine now.
Alright, cool. I didn't want you to miss it and end up losing her, although it's doubtful with so little loss.

Anyway, those are some great pictures. :)

Yeah, thanks. :) Still, I'd like to hear your opinion on what caused the bleeding. Inadequate hydration (sounds like a plausible cause since I've always kept the spider's enclosure 100% bone-dry)? Or is this a common occurrence during molts?
